great chainsaw ..sharp cuts easy ...light weight ...you cant ask for more ...if you see bad reviews its because people did not know got to put it together and tighten it ...which the instructions give thoroughly and yes i used some of my cars 5w30 oil ...works perfect

Could not put saw together. The chain did not fit properly. The chain was balled up in a plastic bag and had a hard time straightening it out. After reading the instructions and trying to get chain to fit saw blade for over an hour I gave up. Would not recommend this saw.

    Lightweight trimming
    I had a very hard time getting the chain installed tightly enough to use. Once I managed that however this little chainsaw is working well for what I need. I haven't tried cutting anything larger than about 3 inch diameter but so far it's doing well.

    Chain got dull real fast.
    I have another chainsaw with a long pole lasted several months and still going. This Sun Joe SWJ599E chainsaw went dull real fast after a couple of days use. The chain just keeps sliding after going halfway and the cutting does not advance anymore. Must be a cheap chain or whatever but I'll be returning it. Not going to replace a chain after 2 days use.

    There a total contradiction the minute you open it
    So, I'm just putting it together now for two reasons, I didn't get the oil delivered until a week after the saw and it's rainy season so I couldn't use it anyway due to the fact it's pouring everyday, when it stops, it's dripping, on top of that I didn't want it to leak oil in my house. I took one star off because of the glaring problem with packaging. As you can see with the " don't clip the zip" notice, once you open the box it is totally seperated, even bagged individually with no zip to clip. That being said I was a commercial diver, roofer and professional landscaper, my underwater hydraulic 18" chainsaw was far more complicated, as were my gas operated chainsaws, poor mounted chainsaws, so for me, no issue. And, sorry guys, but I'm female. So far it seems very well built. I'm assembling it today, it's been dry (ish) for two days, it's supposed to be sunny tomorrow and I will test it out and update review after using it for a while. I do love the lightweight aspect and hand positions are very sturdy. I would recommend for anyone, but maybe you should actually put the chainsaw/bar together if your going to say it is already together.

    Great Chainsaw
    Excellent for cleaning up trees. Great for small to medium-size trees. It's really low maintenance compared to a gas chain saw. I used it all day for 5 days straight on trees up 10" in diameter and it was fine. Greatest saw I've ever used. Normally, I can't even get a gas one started daily lol

    The tightening screw is a HORRIBLE design!
    The chain tightening screw is simply a major design flaw! It loosens up after approximately 20 minutes of use, to the point that the chain falls off of the bar! And...to tighten it, one must do their best to even GET TO THE SCREW! It's in a place where the tightening tool they sent with it, or a standard flat-head screwdriver is at a very awkward angle. Making it VERY frustrating & irritating when attempting to tighten the screw.

    Does Good Job
    I have used the saw for 2 "outings" so far and I could not ask for a better piece of equipment. I use it to supplement or in conjunction with my Stihl gas saw. I love the relative quiet of it and it will cut almost as big diameter limb/log, not as fast maybe but it goes through quietly and efficiently. VERY EASY to use.

    Just what we needed!
    This small, lightweight chainsaw is perfect for cutting up the small branches that either we or the wind leave on the ground. What used to take a long time with a hand saw goes so much more quickly now and doesn't aggravate my carpal tunnel syndrome.

    Very economical that gets cuts easily
    Chainsaw has been used to cut down several large shrubs and downed pine tree branches up to 4" dia. Was very effective and saved me lots of labor, well worth the price for general and occasional home use. Good thing I purchased the bar oil with the chainsaw as it does not come with any. Purchase some extra oil to keep on hand. Do not store the chainsaw vertically or it will leak out oil.
