Same as popular brand but a lot cheaper
Same active ingredients as Frontline Plus but in much more better price! I received this product recently to try and share my opinion, i have to say that got online and started and checking it out to see if it is the same as Frontline Plus, which I have been buying before, (at a much different price, higher price!) After my research I decided to give it a try because the active ingredients compare exactly, they also come in same percentages to the product from Frontline brand. The weather has changed and i am not waiting to see any visitors on my dog, it has been more than a week since i applied and she still clean, i will keep checking and update this review. also the skin that came in contact with the product it is in a healthy condition. i think it is worth the try and if it keeps working as now i definitely buy again.

Works fine
I received these TevraPet FirstAct flea and tick prevention for dogs through the Spark Reviewer program. I was able to easily open the tube and slowly apply the liquid to the skin between my dogs parted hair. He had no adverse reaction. I applied it at the shoulder blades as recommended. I have not had any fleas on my dog so I assume it is working fine. I only gave it 4 stars because I didn't have fleas before the application either.

    Good Protection
    We have a very active border collie. Going for walks, and playing fetch are part of our daily lives. Unfortunately, many of times during the week, we are forced to go play during the evening. The mosquitos are a pest tat scares me for all members of our family. The humans within our family were off, and our four-legged member wears this product. This product does a good job keeping the mosquitos away. The TervaPet FirstAct Plus Flea and Tick Prevention allows us to enjoy our evening walks without worrying. The applicators are easy to use. We have to bathe our border collie on a regular basis, or she starts to smell from sweat and dirt. Once a month we apply one of these, once she has dried from a bath. I highly recommend using disposable gloves. Wait a little before petting your dog in the applied area. I'm not sure what effects the active ingredient has on humans but prefer not to find out. I appreciate that this product is less expensive than most competitors. I highly recommend this product for anyone with a dog. The cost is easily justified over the risk of getting bit by the wrong mosquito or tick.

    Quarterly Treatment Against Pet Pests
    TevraPet FirstAct plus flea and tick prevention helps our dogs manage to keep pests at bay quarterly. With the summer heat comes all the bugs, and this is a line of defense for our dogs. The product is applied between their shoulder blades almost to the tail, and aids in control of ticks, fleas, and lice. The product did not seem to have any smell, and appears to be working as intended.

    Works as well as Expensive Brand
    Like every dog owner, we face flea problems with our dogs, which means we either treat our dogs for the problem before it happens or deal with the consequences of it afterwards. I've dealt with the problem after and did not like that experience, so for many years now, as long as products like this have been available, I've been buying flea and tick preventatives. We've pretty much prevented outbreaks in not only our home, but also our half-acre backyard as well for at least the past 15 years. I can't count how much money that has cost us, though, and I probably would not want to know, either, because I imagine it would pay for a new car or at least a used one. I had never heard of this brand, but was VERY interested to try it out, considering we have THREE dogs and the name-brand flea and tick preventatives are doing nothing but going up, it seems, every month. I couldn't believe how cheap this one is advertised to be and was hoping it would work. Well, it did work! While our dogs have all been on a name-brand preventative since they were rescued, I can always tell when it's time to do their monthly treatment, because one of the three will always start to scratch. They might as well have a bell attached to their foot, because it's like an alarm going off: "Mom, it's time for our flea medicine!" And sure enough, I'll look at the scratching dog and can even sometimes spot the offending flea. I'm horrified, of course, to see it, imagining it will multiply before my very eyes, and usually run at breakneck speed to the kitchen to retrieve the flea meds. This First Act Plus treatment was very easy to administer; no need to punch a hole in a bottle (I have a hard time with that for some reason) and then distribute it down their backs (and then wait for them to shake it off on your kitchen floor). Nope. Just cut the top off and empty it between the shoulder blades and you're done! I did the same with all three dogs. Never saw another scratch. Being quite experienced with this whole monthly process, I knew the First Act was working by the second day, as I never saw a single scratch out of a single dog (and I was on the lookout, as always). That was about two weeks ago, and still not a scratch out of any of them. No signs of side effects like a rash or itchiness or bald or "hot" spots, either. I'm sold. I'm switching from now on, and delighted to have found this cheaper alternative to the higher-priced brands!

    When I applied this to Lyla, she did not scratch owing to reaction of its chemical. It does not smell, but, plenty in the applicator to ward off and kill fleas. Tear along the perforated lines of First Act Plus, cut the tip off, vand spread along the middle back side from tail to the neck. This product kills ticks and fleas on dogs.

    This review is for the TevraPet FirstAct plus flea tick prevention for dogs , 3 monthly treatments okay let's start by telling you what it will prevent, fleas,ticks,chewing lice, sarcoptic mites and then let me say as a added bonus it doesn't say it will but it helps to slow down mosquitoes, you open the applicator and squeeze the entire content on the dogs skin ( not hair) between the shoulder blades allow it to dry, then watch it work, I haven't seen a flea on my dog since I got this stuff and how wonderful that I have enough for two more months , very effective and so much cheaper than the vet, so I say buy it, try it and you'll like it.

    easy application
    Best thing about this is the easy application and no more frequent than once every 30 days at most. I have only just started using this on my dog. So as far as the long term goes, I cannot verify all of its claims. I am mostly concerned by fleas. Fortunately she doesn't have any that want to leave her nice warm body for human hosts. We live in a country area, but she is in a fenced in acre so she doesn't have contact with other dogs, cats or wild animals. Still she gets fleas. If I give her a bath, the water is practically clear and no sign of fleas, but they are there. I am hoping that this will be the solution to keep new ones off of her, and kill those. It has only been a few days, and I notice less scratching I like that it is waterproof as the dew on the ground would count as water and would interfere with so many other products of this type. Although we do not have problems like mange, it is good to know that this helps in control of that and ticks are always a possibility in the country, so that is also a plus. If this does not work as indicated, I will make an additional comment regarding that. I received this through Spark Review and want to make sure readers are getting a true review.

    I'm so glad that I got to try this first act plus for dogs and it works amazingly. I will most definitely keep using this product. At first I didn't think it would work that well as I have tried many different ones before. But after awhile of my dog having it on her she stopped scratching so much and you could see the fleas just fall off her dead. I have seen her scratching still but nothing bad and any flea that does jump on her dies. I would most definitely recommend that you get the powder for your floors as well and make sure you vacuum everything up just to get ride of any fleas you might have. I also noticed that this tevrapet don't have any order and it don't make your dogs hair all stiff after it dries. This one is only recommend for dogs so make sure you don't use it on you cats and make sure you get the one that matches the weight of your dog. They say to keep using this on your dog to make sure it kills everything and that the fleas don't come back. You will get enough for three months and after that it should break the cycle of fleas. I'm really hoping for the best because I hate seeing my dog scratch so much. So thank you Walmart for this I'm so thankful.

    I received this product from the Spark Reviewer program. I was using Frontline and when I got this I stopped. It's cheaper and so effective. Doesn't stink or burn my furbaby when it does on. It's easy to apply and not super greasy like others I have tried. Great Product.
