Gorgeous Pioneer Woman pasta bowls
This set of four Pioneer Woman Melody 7.5 inch Pasta Bowls are just gorgeous! They are colorful high quality ceramic bowls. I haven't used them in the microwave but they are microwave safe. To clean them you can place them in the dish washer. I hand wash them with dish soap, rinse and dry them with a soft dish cloth. Don't use anything abrasive such as Ajax cleaner and watch metal utensils because they can scratch or leave grey marks. I like to use plastic forks with these. The floral pattern is so pretty and colorful they are great for giving as a gift for any occasion. As with all ceramic dishes handle with care.

    These bowls are beautiful, and bigger than expected after reading comments. PLUS, and a very BIG plus, is that they were very well packed. Hopefully, this means their packers are learning how to do this so that our PW mdse. arrives intact instead of chipped or shattered.

    These are great! Some say they are too small for pasta but I disagree. This is a great way to portion control and to build a bigger salad. I love the print in and on the sides of the bowl. Pictures below are sitting on an older pioneer woman dinner plate for reference

    Exquisite, delightful collection!
    I had been contemplating purchasing some extra bowls because the bowls I currently have don't seem to be big enough for specialty dinners like pozole once you add on cabbage, radishes, onions, etc. When I pulled these out of the box, I was delighted to see all of the beautiful, bold flowers on these colorful dishes! The dishes literally look as though they were hand-painted. I absolutely love bright colors as there is no time during the year when they wouldn't be considered festive or to brighten up the lunch or dinner table!! These could even be used at breakfast – what a wonderful way to start the day with huge splash of color! The Pioneer Woman Melody Pasta bowls have a diameter of 7.5 inches, and I would consider them to be medium-sized bowls. These are advertised as pasta bowls, but they can be used for serving anything your heart desires. For example, every week my husband and I prepare legumes, whether it's lentils, black beans or kidney beans, and we can build a basic meal with the legume as the base. By the time we add a little bit more protein and some veggies, we generally overwhelm the typical smaller bowl, which makes the Melody pasta bowl the perfect choice. These beautiful floral bowls have 4 distinct designs of bright flowers decorated with flirty little polka dots on the underside. They are made of durable stoneware, and are said to be safe to use in microwave and in the dishwasher, although you may want to pre-soak more stubborn foods (without pre-soaking for extended periods of time). However, given they feel somewhat delicate when handling, I personally would hand-wash these dishes rather than place them in the dishwasher. Any collision of these dishes with others while in the dishwasher could break the dishes. The insert included with the dinnerware recommends cleaning with a plastic brush or nylon scrubber and avoiding the use of abrasive cleaners. They also recommend using wooden, nylon or plastic utensils to extend the life of the dishes, likely to protect the floral pattern and colors of the dish. They also recommend against using metal utensils and cutlery which may scratch or mark the dishes. These dishes are absolutely delightful and sort of transport me to a small café or restaurant nestled in the mountains, where dining on this type of dish would be the norm. (I can use my imagination, right?!) I have a feeling it won't be enough to simply have these 4 Melody bowls – I think I will be inclined to add to this exquisite, delightful collection!

    Good plates
    I always seem to struggle to find pasta bowls that would be of perfect size for me. I am glad I received these plates as they are just the right size. They are not too shallow like the regular plates and they are not too deep like the regular bowls in any dinnerware set. They measure 7.5 inches wide and come in a set of four. The flower design is a bit too “flowery” for me, but again - the size and the type of the plate overshadows that. I like The Pioneer Woman kitchen line of utensils in general, and I also like watching the show. The plates come with the same flower design and flower colors but different background colors and different colors on the bottom. They are red, yellow, teal and dark blue. The edges are wavy to simulate the flower petals. The plates are made in China. The set comes with instructions on how to take care of them. It is suggested to avoid using metal cutlery with these plates as it can scratch or leave dark spots on the surface. The dishes are supposed to be dishwasher and microwave save. Overall I think they are good sturdy dishes that I would recommend to your kitchen.

    Very Wide, Useful Bowls
    This is a set of four artistic, scalloped serving bowl dishware that beautifies a home and can, with sufficient care, be used everyday. They will not resist high oven heat or freezing. It is recommended to stir using plastic or wooden spoons instead of metal. One cannot scrape so have to be careful picking up the food with a metal spoon. Cleaned in the dishwasher they might gray or color fade, and hand washing is recommended. The 7.5 in. inside rim diameter fulfills the tableware bowl size uses of a dessert, salad, serving bowl, or even a small dinner plate. The wide curved shape and weight keeps the 2.25 in. high bowls from tipping, spilling contents such as soup. The name pasta bowl derives from Italian tableware where in traditional porcelain, ceramic, and pottery they have been produced for centuries. In Italy, pasta is served in this size bowl also with a second bowl for a salad side dish. These are large snack bowls for chips, nuts, or pretzels and serving bowls for ice cream, cake, or a piece of pie. They are nice to use for a large salad. The bowls can be heated to warm up to no higher than 350 degrees, not on high in the microwave which is hotter, and are not made to actually cook in. Microwave heating beef stew, ravioli, baked beans, or soup is fine, but not in the oven. Leftovers can be refrigerated covered with wrap, although they cannot go into the freezer. Temperature changes must be gradual. Served in this wide bowl, they contain a large helping of spaghetti and meatballs preventing a mess. Each bowl is different making them cheery and fun to use. They have the look of hand-painted to them. All the colors, flowers, and dots make the bowls seem to have a bumpy surface, but it is completely smooth and easy to wash. The edges have to be prevented from chipping. The bowls are not as thick as they might be for a daily, regular use and must always be handled delicately. They seem like they can easily crack from normal handling, stacking, and washing. More artistic than for common use, they pretty up the table and show it off for special occasions. They might not stand up under everyday use over the long term, but I am getting used to handling them. As collectibles, they definitely are manufactured to last for a long time. All the bowls have a bright, matching flower pattern inside.

    So pretty and versitile
    These bowls are so pretty! They blend well with my Fiesta Ware and look like they were part of the set. They are delicate so don't use the dishwasher. I know they are supposed to be safe but they just don't feel sturdy enough for the dishwasher. They work really well as pasta bowls, soup dishes, for serving side dishes, morning cereal. I really love them. I just wish they felt sturdier. I plan on using these all summer long with my Fiestaware for backyard barbeques and just having the pleasure of eating outdoors. Remember-despite the notation on the back-handwash!

    I Am So Pleased With This Set of Dishes!!
    I received a set of four Pasta Bowls from the Pioneer Woman Dinnerware Collection yesterday. They arrived well-packed with thick cardboard separating each bowl. (I intend to keep the cardboard to protect the bowls I am not using from nicks, etc.) They are round ceramic stoneware with a scalloped edge. Each bowl is seven and three eighths inches across and two inches deep. They are a nice size to grab by the rim or around the sides. The outside is a creamy white with a border around the rim made of dots of color which is repeated as a solid color on the scalloped edge. The inside has a floral design in the center with a solid color border that pulls out one of the colors from the floral design - each bowl has a different color border inside. I think that they do capture what Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman, writes that she wants her collection to represent: strength, quality, whimsy, beauty, home, and family with plenty of fun thrown in. I had wanted a nice set of bowls that would make it easy for me to have a dinner of pasta, or a bowl of soup or to heat up leftovers that I put together for a meal. They are microwave and dishwasher safe. They are easy to wash out quickly, dry and put away. Care instructions are enclosed and include not letting them to soak in water and not handling roughly. I plan on treating them like they are the prettiest dishes that I have.
