It Broke
I bought it as a gift for my teenage grandson based on a favorable review by a tennis coach. In all fairness, it assembled easily and seemed to work really well. Unfortunately, the plastic hopper cracked the first day. The hopper sides are screwed together using self-tapping screws. Each screw taps into a cylindrical mount only slightly bigger in diameter than the screw. Two of those mounts snapped off of the sides they were holding. The hopper stayed together because the sides also snap together, but it was clearly not going to last. Walmart accepted my return in great Walmart fashion. Perhaps a teenager is rougher on things than a tennis coach, but my feeling is that a tennis hopper needs to withstand abuse. After all, you pick up balls by pushing it onto the court to force the balls through the bottom. Then it gets tossed into the trunk of a car to carry it. I've had a steel hopper for 15 years. I'm going back to steel. The plastic version is a good concept but needs better engineering.

    Great product! I bought more for friends.
    This is an excellent hopper/serving stand! Light weight and durable. Directions for assembly are not great, but if you look at the parts, it's easy to see how it should go together. Highly recommend!

    This is a great hopper! We've used the metal ones for years but this seems far superior in design! It does require assembly but I did it myself in 10 minutes each. The handles "lock" in place so they don't flop around, and when stood upright for serving or feeding balls, they also latch in place, making the hopper really secure in a standing position. The rods on top slide easily to "close", keeping the balls from spilling. It seems someone has "built a better mousetrap" as they say!!! I love it and at $24 from walmart.com it's a great deal! I bought two and will buy more to replace old metal hoppers as needed. (They also hold more balls than a traditional hopper)

    The tennis ball pickup basket is effort-able and durable. However It will consume your time and little brain to put it together. I recommend this basket.
