Can't hear or turn up past 3, no help from manufac
Not worth getting because if you would like to actually hear, you won't with this item. From less than a foot away you cannot hear voices, you cannot hear a TV that is 3 feet away on high, or the door 4ft away. You can hear only when they scream next to it after a moment of silence, but in a loud environment it can't pick up nothing but what's being talked directly into it. Even in a quiet place it picks up onlyyy was extremely loud. It's just all together not worth it, you can't even hear when you put it next to your ear it's ridiculous. I've contacted the manufacturer and they sent me some bogus generic email even though I gave them the correct item number they still sent me instructions for an item completely different than mine even after I attached photos! This shoty monitor will be returned and I'm adamant to let everyone know that regardless of the high amount of stars it receives in reviews this is not something that you would like to purchase. If you actually care to hear for your child, bypass this. I will never again think of VTEC as a choice.

I'm using it to monitor my 81 year old mom when she is in her room. Our home is very large and if I'm in another room or asleep I may not hear her and she has fallen before. I have one in the kitchen and one in my bedroom and I can hear everything! The ONLY reason I thought about giving it a 4 is because one of them stopped working. I couldn't find how to get a replacement so I order a whole new set, hoping I could just replace the non-working one but they don't seem to be compatible so I just unplugged the working one and move from room to room. It has given me peace of mind with my mom, however so I would recommend it.Patricia

We just wanted to have this in case one or the other of us got Covid--you know, you don't want to be in the room with the person but, you do want to know that everything is alright. We could have used our walkie-talkies but this just seem more efficient. I WOULD recommend this, especially because of the price.Cathy

I have the monitor close to him and I have one of the speakers in my bedroom and can hear every move he makes. These have given me the freedom to sleep in my own bed and go outside if I need to.
