Perfect!
With this, I dyed polyester, satin and velvet. Works well! I had a velvet dress which was a bright, garish fuchsia color. I dyed it with this, and it turned out a nice burgundy. Satin works especially well. Light colors or white will turn out a pretty grey color.

Doesn't work
Followed all directions on Rit Dye website, prewash item, add dish soap to solution, heat water in large porcelain pot on stovetop, test strip etc. Dyed a pair of light grey heathered leggings, in hopes of matching a shirt with darker grey on it. Leggings are 92% polyester, 8% spandex. Well my item is now a blueish color in heathered areas and still doesn't match. It's barley darker then it started out. Don't waste your $. Buy whatever it is your trying to dye. I did manage to dye my countertop, and sink, and clothing I was wearing with spots.

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser04/06/2021Extremely HappyI bought lace(looking) valances for every room in my apartment. They were on sale but only had ivory color. I bought this gray dye so my bedroom would have a different color. I followed the directions and they came out absolutely beautiful. I will be buying a couple more colors so every room is different. It is a very simple process and I definitely recommend this dye. I plan on dying old curtains to bring them back to lifeLeenie

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser12/02/2020Do not dilute. If you want the end result to be black do not add water. I used it to dye upholstered chairs that were originally a sun daded lavendar. I painted undiluted dye on with a paint brush, let it dry, then poured boiling water over the chair. Let that sit, vthen rinsed with the hose. I am pleased with the results.myrockabillykitty

2.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/20/2018Poor qualityI found that this product did not live up to its claims. It deposited only a small amount of color to the fabric. I jave used original Rit successfully multiple times, so was disappointed this is of such poor quality.beachgirlsRI

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser03/09/2017Easy to useI used this to dye a synthetic quilt. I prewashed the quilt, then dyed it in the machine. With polyester you cannot expect a deep color unless you use several bottles of dye. I was able to tint the quilt from a warm brown to a cool light gray.CWC1

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser04/26/2016PolyesterI used this dye for a bridesmaid dress to change the color after I wore it for the wedding. It was a pale pink and now it's a slate blue. It's the only dye that worked on my 100% polyester dress. Not black like I wanted but still did the trick.Corpus87
