Traditionally Necessary
A seafood necessity, especially for shell fish.

Horrible! Just horrible
I do not want this seasoning. I wanted the seafood stock or replaced with vegetable stock. Not the seasoning. Should give the people a chance to choose something different instead of choosing for them.

    See the Lid fix below.
Great idea with the tape! I just put mine in a different container, Blackstone dredge. Don't forget a little rice. Old Bay, is really great on everything! Really great on shrimp! Potatoes, of all kinds. Popcorn! Thanks!

    New Plastic Top Can
Clearly, the new plastic top can doesn't seem to be the best design but, I secured it with a small piece of masking tape, which actually took less time than crying about it on the blog. I buy it for the seasoning, not the container. A staple in my house.

?Expiration date ? and faulty lid.
We like this spice; however the plastic container large opening needs to be taped shut because ,once opened, does not close. Also, there is No Expiration Date on the bottom of the old or new plastic container. Am just guessing that the old one has been in my cupboard ~two years and needs to be replaced.

Bad plastic container, lids don't close
The plastic container lids are not able to snap shut once opened. I never open the non-sprinkle side and it came open on its own. Now it will NOT close, so when I shake the spice onto food, I have to keep my thumb on the other lid to prevent it from pouring out onto the food ! Not to mention, it won't close so anything can get into it including moisture. The product design team just doesn't need to be told, they need to fix it ASAP. How hard can it be to create a plastic snap closure that works? This isn't the first spice to go "plastic"! Besides that, yes Old Bay on everything from potatoes to fried chicken, potato chips, pasta, anything! I'm rating the spice as a 5, the plastic lid fiasco a 1.

Love Old Bay, hate the new plastic container
McCormick, what were you thinking? Plastic containers? I bought the 6 ounce 'can' and the lid won't seal correctly. It spills, too. I loathe your new plastic container. I was stationed with the US Army in Maryland-depending on when I alternately lived in Hagerstown, Aberdeen and Laurel. My favorite haunt for crabs was Bottom of the Bay in Laurel. That's where I learned to love Old Bay and cook fresh blue crab. I would buy several tins, back when it was in metal cans of Old Bay, because fans of the mix stationed elsewhere in the world would beg me to 'bring some Old Bay' when you get here'. But now I'm upset that you've changed the container to plastic. The world needs more Old Bay. The planet does NOT need yet another plastic container. They aren't recycleable, McCormick!! Come ON! Bring back the metal can!

Yummy with any kind of seafood!
Great seasoning for seafood. I always boil shrimp in this and also add it to ketchup to eat with my shrimp. Also add it to breading for fried fish.. Have used for years!
