Broke after 4 uses!
I purchased this mid-last season of last year to use in my yard of 15,000 sq feet. It was brand new from Blains Farm and Fleet and one of the more expensive choices. As I was finishing up today the spin plate broke off from the plastic shaft, rendering it useless. I don't believe at this point it's returnable to the retailer — very disappointing as my last no-name one lasted over 15 years.

    Worth product I ever buy.
I bought this Deluxe Scotts spreader in May 2021, used only 4 times and on five-time wheel broke off. I did not use it even 6 hours total and now it trash. Really bad design, cheap and flimsy plastic. Not recommended buy unless you want to waste money.

    So Far So Good!!!
I bought this machine to replace the green version of this spreader. It was not good at all so I decided to step it up with this purchase. What I Like:- Ease of assembly- metal spreader pins vise plastic- Bigger solid wheels- Handles and controlsWhat I don't like:- Pins for wheels are little flimsy for their use.I have used this to spread new fescue seeds and to apply fertilizer to my lawn. It evenly spread's the product in comparison to the lower green model which spreads to one side only. It is easy to push across your lawn with the bigger tires and ergonomics are great. So if your looking for a good spreader try this one out!

My third unit, non lasted 3-years
I've purchased three of these over the years and non made it 3 seasons. All three broke at the agitator or somewhere between the agitator and spreader plate. I completely rinse out the spreader after each use and store indoors between use so it's not a maintenace issue. Parts are all plastic and just don't hold up well. If replacement parts were available this last unit could likely be easily repaired.

Newer Models = Agitator Too Short
I had a 2014 worked like a thoroughbred till axle rusted through and snapped. Bought a new one in April 2023, and it kept clogging - on closer inspection, the agitator arms are much shorter and don't reach the clogs. Now I have to gerry rig something or swap agitators etc... PIA I'm guessing someone got their fingers stuck in the drop hole and lost'em!

    It does the job
Walmart's price was less than Home Depot or Amazon- good price for the name brand. The Scott's spreader does the job, probably better than comparably priced spreaders, and rotary spreaders are much faster distributing lawn fertilizer than the drop spreaders, but my previous one of the same model developed a broken rotator after only two years-- make sure you don't keep unused fertilizer in the tray, or it gets lumpy and the somewhat cheap plastic parts can't handle it.

    Worked 1-1/2 times
My old Scott’s Spreader lasted 10 yrs so, went and bought a nice new one. I’m one of those that enjoys my 60 x 75 lawn. The new one last 1-1/2 times. I was spreading winter rye. Easy work and the right wheel fell off! On inspection, the axle assembly was worse than a child’s toy! Bad, don’t waist your money. In the photo, still has the sticker and the plastic pins during shipping.
